In May of 2025, faculty of cross-disciplines from universities and colleges across Southwestern PA will participate in a Future of Work Faculty Academy forum to dive deeply into research projects selected for 2025. Faculty researchers will develop their research expectations and outcomes, collaborate with business and industry partners for research opportunities, experience differentiated exposures to advanced and emerging technologies, discuss how their research can reshape classroom pedagogy, and have opportunity to explore their own interpersonal development that supports their research project activities.
Key faculty determinations during this forum will define future-of-work purpose and intent by selecting a research approach:
- New insights
- Problem-solving
- Theory development
- Application to practice
These year-long research opportunities with support the initiatives of the SWPA New Economy Collaborative and the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission (SPC) in their future of work economic and workforce objectives.
Individuals attend the early events in 2025 at NO COST thanks to the project being part of the SWPA New Economy Collaborative funded by a Build Back Better Regional Challenge grant.
The event is open to all full-time and part-time faculty members from colleges, universities and post-secondary institutions in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Interested faculty from Southwestern Pennsylvania colleges and universities are invited to register for the 2025 event.
